Hello again readers and Happy New Year!! I hope you are looking forward to 2015 as much as I am!

It has been not quite two months since I started my self-imposed blogging hiatus and I, for one, am super excited to be back! I’ve been thinking about my Geeky Musings a lot over the past few weeks, and though I haven’t been posting anything, there are a number of behind-the-scenes changes that I want to catch you up on.

First of all, I cleaned up my musings. When I began my break, I had posted 108 times since starting this blog in February 2013. While crossing the “100 posts” mark seemed like an exciting milestone at first, I knew that not all of them were good or even really on topic. So, I went through each and every post, keeping the ones that still fit my geekynerdy theme and trashing the ones that didn’t. In the end, I was left with 60 posts that you can peruse in the categories listed up top or the “Archives” in the sidebar.

I also scrubbed my Instagram account, which was yet another hodgepodge of geekynerdy content and “lifestyle” photos. I’ll be honest, it was hard to get rid of some of the photos, as they were the ones with the most likes and comments, but I really like the way my feed looks now. It seems to have a more consistent feel to it, which is one of the things I like most about all of the users I follow.

And since I was editing my musings and my photos, I also freshened up my Twitter account. It was time consuming, more so than I was expecting, but I went through and deleted all of the tweets that didn’t fit with the site, and got rid of the tweets with links to posts that were no longer live.

With all of this work, I have a much better sense of what I want this blog to be and hopefully you do to! Ultimately, this is an entertainment site – a place for me to share my thoughts on various geeky and nerdy books, comics, movies, and news. To be sure, I have some ideas for DIY craft projects and recipes too, but they are definitely of the geekynerdy variety!

So here’s to a new year and fresh musings!
