In last Monday’s welcome back post, I mentioned that, along with cleaning up this blog, I updated my Twitter and Instagram accounts as well. But that’s not all I did during my break! I also created a few new sites, and wanted to use this post to tell you about them and all of the different ways we can connect.
Filling out and publishing my Geeky Musings Facebook page was likely my biggest achievement over the break. While I first joined the site as a blogger back in March 2014, I was adding posts to it sporadically and didn’t really like the look of it. So over the holidays, I went through and added all of the posts I have shared with you since creating the FB site – or at least the ones that survived the general culling. I also added in a few fun news stories to give you a sense of what you’ll find here.
This account has been around the longest – in fact, I thought of the handle at the same time I came up with the blog’s name and made sure I could get them both! Now that my feed has been cleaned up, you can expect links to my new posts, retweets of geekynerdy-related material that catches my eye, and photos from my Instagram account. I’ve also toyed with the idea of live tweeting some of my favorite shows – Gotham, Sleepy Hollow, The Flash, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, etc. – so if this is something you would be interested in, please let me know! All these sites are designed to create different ways to interact, so I am open to suggestions.
Though I have had an Instagram account for almost a year now, I couldn’t quite figure out how to get it linked to my blog’s Facebook page. I got that all taken care of over the break though, so now everything is set up just the way I wanted! I am being more conscious though to not just post all kinds of random things, so what you will find here are more behind-the-scenes photos that let you know what kinds of projects I’m working on, which books I’m reading or what movies the Mysterious Mr. C and I are going to see, and any other geekynerdy things that are amusing me at the moment.
Admittedly, this one is a little weird since my blog content doesn’t easily fit into a Pinterest format, but I do have a page and thought I would share it with you! The site includes more of the everyday things I want to try, but there are some geekynerdy pins as well. And to be honest, many of the craft projects – like the DIY Braided Rug from A Beautiful Mess – are things I want to do with superhero fabrics or other materials that make it more of “my thing.” Also, there is a pin board for C and my’s Halloween wedding (and we are going with the theme), if you are interested!
