Brain Storms

Okay, okay – maybe the title of this post should be one word, but I think “Brain Storms” just sounds so much cooler than “Brainstorms.” That or I’ve been reading too many superhero books lately. Regardless, it’s my blog and I can do what I want!

If you’ve been following my Geeky Musings for a little while, you’ll know that I’ve been trying to get back into a good posting rhythm since a massive work conference in February threw everything off. While my goal is to have posts up by 9:00 am every Monday and Thursday, I haven’t been able to build up a queue like the one I had in January, which means that sometimes I miss the mark.

For the most part, I know what I want to write – it’s more a matter of finding the time to finish that book, watch that movie, and publish that post. But every now and then, it’s from a complete lack of inspiration.

Last night turned into one of those blocks. I have a whole slew of geekynerdy movies recorded on our DVR, but when I saw that Blade Runner was on HBO, I decided to check that out instead. After all, it’s a classic and I’d never seen it before. But after two hours of sheer confusion, I just wasn’t feeling it. (Though based on a conversation with one of my co-workers, a review may still be worthwhile.)

Since I knew that I wasn’t going to be able to put anything else together in time for my self-imposed deadline, the Mysterious Mr. C and I had a short brainstorming session instead. We talked about some of the blogs we follow, what they’re doing that I’m not, and various ways that I could diversify my content – keeping it interesting for both you and for me.

While I don’t want to divulge my plans just yet – in case it takes me a little longer than I would like to get everything into place – I am really looking forward to branching out and trying some new things in April. So stay tuned!
