Good Morning Everyone! As I looked over my previous selection posts, I realized that I might be causing some confusion by associating my book club picks with the months when they were selected, so this time, I opted to go for the month when the book will be reviewed instead! Hopefully this is a little clearer, but if you still have any questions about the exact set-up of the GeekyNerdy Book Club, just let me know!
As I mentioned in my Q&A post for our latest read, Felicia Day’s You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost), I am in desperate need of something fictional, but not a dystopia. While I had narrowed it down to Leviathan Wakes by James S. A. Corey and A Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers, I discovered that Chambers’ book doesn’t actually come out in paperback until July, so Corey’s space opera it is!
Since Leviathan Wakes is a long read, at least in terms of actual page numbers, let’s “meet” for our discussion on Thursday, July 28. This should give us all plenty of time to both get and read the book.
Also, though I am always looking for new books to read, and will likely keep using the book club as an excuse to finally get through the ones on my list, I am more than happy to go with your suggestions as well. So, if you have any particular reads that you want to discuss, please let me know and, as always, happy reading!
